I was scheduled to preach recently as part of a series we titled Holy Spirit 101. I had the challenging task of highlighting what we learn about the Holy Spirit from the Apostle Paul’s letters – which is approximately half of the New Testament. I chose the theme of being a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17-18) and discussed how the Holy Spirit Liberates Us (Romans 8), Transforms Us (Galatians 5), and Equips Us (1 Corinthians 12). My son has a brief cameo near the end as we discuss Army boot camp and basic training as a metaphor for what it means to serve a new master, liberated from our old way of life, transformed into someone new, and equipped to be on mission in the world. Here’s the link, if you have 20 minutes! Holy Spirit in Paul’s Letters (Our online worship has more of a podcast format, clearer video and sound, but less of me walking around stage being animated…)
